$5K In Foundation For Excellence Grants Available To D202 Juniors

Students can use the grants for expenses related to a summer enrichment experience between June 1 and Aug. 10, 2024.

PLAINFIELD, IL — High school juniors have the chance to earn one of several Plainfield Foundation for Excellence grants to fund an extended learning experience over the summer.

The Foundation awards multiple Horizon Grants totaling up to $5,000 to current high school juniors from Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202's four high schools as well as Plainfield Academy.

Officials said actual grant amounts will depend on applications and available revenue, but the total of all grants awarded will not exceed $5,000.

Grants can be used for expenses related to a summer enrichment experience between June 1 and Aug. 10, 2024. Officials said this includes, but is not limited to, expenses including registration, travel, food, lodging, learning materials and supplies.

Applications, which can be found on Foundation's website, are due April 4, 2024. A winner will be announced by May 3.
