The challenge: Which team of five can pull the 38,000-pound truck, from Plainfield police's own fleet, 75 feet the fastest? Awards will be given for the fastest time, best team spirit and most funds raised.

The challenge typically happens during National Night Out, but police changed it up this year to give it its own day. Check in will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the event will commence an hour later.

The cost to enter is $150 per team. Registration can be completed through Aug. 6 by scanning the QR code on the event flyer. Questions should be directed to AnnaMarie Flood at 815-267-7235 or specialolympicsinfo@plainfieldpd.com.

The annual event raises money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.

"Gather your team, bring your competitive spirit, and help support the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Illinois," police said. "Whether you're pulling the truck or cheering from the sidelines, every bit of support makes a difference."

If it rains Aug. 15, the event will happen at the same time and place Aug. 22.
