• Plainfield's 'Chainsaw Massacre' Attempted Murder Defendant Attacked Mom, Teen Girl: Prosecutors (patch.com) — Plainfield residents are learning more about a terrifying knife attack that left a mother with life-threatening neck wounds and her 13-year-old daughter injured on South Potomac Drive. Prosecutors say the suspect, arrested after a lengthy police barricade response, now faces multiple attempted murder and aggravated battery charges and is being held in Will County Jail as the investigation continues.
• Plainfield police say confiscated toilet paper being donated; 'Sometimes you just have to roll with it' (shawlocal.com) — Plainfield police and Plainfield North High School students turned a messy homecoming toilet-paper prank into a big donation to the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry, delivering hundreds of confiscated rolls. Officers are still warning students that property damage and dangerous behavior won't be tolerated, even during celebrations, and are urging everyone to think before they act at future events.
• Dixon cannabis dispensary now serves medical patients (shawlocal.com) — Medical cannabis patients in Plainfield will soon have another local option as Terrabis expands medical sales to its Illinois locations, including a Plainfield shop. The company also plans a drive-thru there later this year, aiming to make access easier for patients with mobility or pain issues and reduce the need for long drives to other communities.
