Plainfield Woodman's Now Open

PLAINFIELD, IL —Three days after announcing on social media that the store was "getting close" to opening, the Plainfield Woodman's made it official — the massive grocery store is now open as of Tuesday.

In an email to customers just sent before noon, the employee-owned chain announced the store is open, adding, "Thank you for your patience... providing the largest grocery selection in the state, at the best prices takes time... but trust us, it's worth it!"

First proposed in 2024, the grocer at 11751 Route 59 features a store that's bigger than Costco, a gas station and an oil change center. It's open 24 hours, seven days a week.

In addition to the 240,000-square-foot store, the 36-acre plot of land also has room for several more outlots open to additional development.
