Robert Thomas Zarecki Sr., age 46, of Braidwood, brother of a Plainfield resident, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home. Born October 30, 1964 in Chicago, IL.
Robert was very passionate about his profession and a proud member of the Iron Workers Union Local #444, employed for the most part with Testa Construction in Channahon as a foreman.
He was one of the originators and continued to volunteer for Grillin' For Freedom. He was an Eagle Scout as a young man and as an adult, he continued his devotion as a Cub Scout leader and Cub Master of the Braidwood Pack #459. He was very active in all his children's sporting and school activities, including the Reed Custer Soccer Organization and the Middle School Marching Band. His true enjoyment came from helping others.

Surviving are his children, Jason Zarecki, Nick Zarecki and Jessica Zarecki, all of Braidwood; his mother, Bernadine (nee Bruno) Zarecki of Chicago Ridge, IL; his father and stepmother, Tom and Paulette Zarecki of Tinley Park, IL; one sister, Juliann (Peter) Kramer of Plainfield, IL; his former wife, Colleen (nee Keenan) Zarecki of Braidwood; and several god children, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in death was his son, Robert T. Zarecki on March 31, 2006.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Wednesday, August 31, 2011, from 2-8 p.m. with memorial services starting at 8:00 p.m. Sister Susan Bruno will officiate. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
