Annual Madrigal Concerts Coming To Plainfield High Schools

PLAINFIELD, IL — Students at all four Plainfield District 202 high schools are getting ready to host their annual madrigal concerts.

Each school's show is a little different. With the schedule fluctuating, it's possible for show-goers to see more than one performance.

Here's a look at what's on the docket at each school.

Plainfield North High School, 12005 S. 248th Ave.

• What: "Law & Dis-order," a play intertwined with music by three after-school groups and the school's band. The show follows the story of how a kingdom discovered a crime and, through wacky antics and subpar investigating, came together to celebrate the holidays.
• When: 7 p.m. Dec. 9-10
• Tickets: Admission is pay-what-you-can. Individual cups of figgy pudding will be for sale.

Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive

• What: The school's 44th annual madrigal performance.
• When: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16-17
• Tickets: Admission is free.

Plainfield South High School, 7800 W. Caton Farm Road

• What: "A Merry Madrigal Murder Mystery," an evening of mischief and music. The interactive show follows the Southern Kingdom as it begins the search for Lord Bartholomew.
• When: 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 3 and 2 p.m. Dec. 4
• Tickets: Admission is $10 for students and seniors and $12 for adults. Concessions and raffles will be available for purchase.

Plainfield East High School, 12001 S. Naperville Road

• What: A madrigal performance featuring four choral and two instrumental ensembles. The show will also tell the story of how jesters find a trunk from the future.
• When: 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3-4
• Tickets: Admission is $5 and includes figgy pudding and wassail.
