Ben Affleck's Character in 'The Accountant' Lives in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, IL — Any Plainfield residents heading to the movies this weekend might want to check out “The Accountant.” Why? Ben Affleck’s character is reportedly a resident of the city.

Affleck plays Christian Wolff, a certified public accountant working at a strip mall accounting firm in Plainfield, according to a review from the Chicago Sun-Times.

Despite the Sun-Times review giving it three-and-a-half stars, most other critics have not been as kind. The film currently holds a 49 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The review also notes that the filmmakers didn’t meticulously research Plainfield, as the film states it is 20 miles from Chicago. We wish.
