'A Christmas Story,' 'Little Women': D202 HS Theater Lineup For Fall
District 202's four high school auditoriums will come alive with live performances in November. See what's in store.
- PLAINFIELD, IL — Come November, Plainfield School District 202's four high school auditoriums will come to life as student thespians perform their slate of fall plays.
Each high school will put on its own production. This year's lineup features "A Christmas Story" at Plainfield Central High School, "Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies, Oh My" at Plainfield South High School, "Little Women" at Plainfield North High School," and "James and the Giant Peach" at Plainfield East High School.

"A Christmas Story"

- When: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18-19, 2 p.m. Nov. 19-20
- Where: Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive
- What: The play brings to life Jean Shepherd's memoir about growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s. It follows a 9-year-old Ralphie Parker on his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas.
- Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Admission can be purchased by calling Plainfield Central at 815-436-3200.
"Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies, Oh My"
- When: 7 p.m. Nov. 4-5 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6
- Where: Plainfield South High School, 7800 W. Caton Farm Road
- What: The production takes a look at what it would be like if vampires, werewolves, zombies, elves, fairies and mermaids roamed contemporary society. The story aims to show that teenage angst is universal and timeless.
- Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students, staff, senior citizens, veterans, active military and children younger than 5. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 815-439-5555.
"Little Women"

- When: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17-19
- Where: Plainfield North High School, 12005 S. 248th Ave.
- What: The classic play tells the story of four sisters — Amy, Jo, Meg and Beth — as they navigate their transition from childhood to adulthood during the Civil War.
- Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students, staff and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 815-609-8506.
"James and the Giant Peach"
- When: 7 p.m. Nov. 17-19 and 2 p.m. Nov. 20
- Where: Plainfield East High School, 12001 S. Naperville Road
- What: The play brings to life Roald Dahl's story of a young orphan, James Henry Trotter, who has no idea what adventure awaits him after encountering a magical peach.
- Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students, staff, senior citizens, veterans, active military and children younger than 5.
