Plainfield North grad makes dean’s list at Loyola University Chicago

Justin Conrad, who graduated from Plainfield North High School in 2022, was included on Loyola University Chicago’s dean’s list in both the fall and spring semesters this past school year.

Spring 2023 graduates announced at The University of Alabama

Some 5,885 degrees will be awarded during The University of Alabama's spring 2023 commencement at Coleman Coliseum. A recent economic analysis found that a degree from The University of Alabama can pay more over time than investments in U.S. stock market indexes. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social and cultural experiences.

Local students named to Wartburg College dean's list

Wartburg College has recognized 442 students who were named on the 2023 Winter/May Term Dean's List.

Those on the list include:

• Isabella Devenuto of Plainfield.
• Alizah Qadri of Plainfield.

The list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five-course credits during the terms. Four of the five course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.

Plainfield student named to ACU dean's honor roll

Ella Root of Plainfield was named to the Abilene Christian University Spring 2023 Dean's Honor Roll. Root is a junior majoring in Theatre.

Root was among more than 1,200 students named to the Spring 2023 Dean's Honor Roll.

To qualify for the Dean's Honor Roll, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

Student from Plainfield graduates with human services and communication degree

Valerie Pugh of Plainfield, IL graduated with a B.A. in Human Services and Communication from Millikin University.

Pugh was one of 338 graduates recognized during two in-person Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremonies at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center on May 21, 2023.

Augustana's William Unyi recognized as Esports Academic Honoree

Augustana College's William Unyi, an Augie Ages major from Plainfield, was named a spring 2023 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Esports Academic Honoree.

ECAC recognized 129 student-athletes from 12 universities and colleges for success in the classroom. Recognized students must carry a grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the semester.

Augustana's Vikings esports team wrapped its spring season by claiming two National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) championships. The team also claimed NECC and ECAC runner-up finishes.

The team, which competes against teams from colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada, launched in the fall of 2022 as the college's 29th varsity sport.

Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the Spring Quarter 2023 Dean's List.

• Jason Gerding of Plainfield (60586) . Gerding is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
• Grant Glorioso of Plainfield (60585) with High Honors. Glorioso is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.

Undergraduate students who have earned at least 30 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean's List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive "high honors."

Missouri State University's Spring 2023 Dean's List

Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean's list.

For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the spring semester and at least a 3.50 GPA (on a 4.00 scale).

More than 4,700 students were named to the spring 2023 dean's list. These local students made the list:

Danielle Murphy of Plainfield graduated from Monmouth College on May 14 with a degree in exercise science. Murphy is the daughter of Daniel J Murphy of Aurora, daughter of Deneen Wojtasiak of Plainfield.
