College Credits: Plainfield Student-Athletes Make Honor Roll

Student attends summer orientation at Bob Jones University
Kevin Yang, a resident of Plainfield, joined members of the upcoming freshman class as Bob Jones University hosted Summer Orientation 2021 on June 18-19 or June 25-26.

Incoming students and their parents became familiar with the campus and attended informational sessions about the BJU experience including academics, student development and financial aid. Students were also able to receive academic and career counsel from faculty and register for their fall classes.
Yang will be majoring in Middle School Education, BS when classes begin Wednesday, August 25.

"Summer orientation gives incoming students the ability to meet our knowledgeable and caring faculty and receive the information they need to be prepared for classes and life as a BJU Bruin," said BJU President Steve Pettit.

Local student receives a degree from Miami University
Hannah Kucera of Plainfield, IL (60544) was among more than 4,000 students from Miami University who received degrees during the in-person spring commencement May 14-16, 2021
Kucera graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health degree, majoring in Kinesiology, Nutrition.

Plainfield student earns bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa University
Upper Iowa University is pleased to announce Alyssa Fink of Plainfield, IL, graduated Cum Laude in May with a Nachelor of Science degree in Biology.

UW-Whitewater is represented by 372 student-athletes on WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll
A total of 372 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student-athletes representing all 22 of the institution's varsity sport programs were named to the 2020-21 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll.
The Warhawks' 12 women's teams had 183 honorees, while 189 student-athletes from the 10 men's teams garnered Scholastic Honor Roll accolades. The Honor Roll is part of the "WIAC Scholar-Athlete Recognition Program".
In addition to the 372 individual awards, UW-Whitewater was named an All-Academic institution as student-athletes earned a GPA equal to, or greater than, the collective GPA of the overall student body.
To be eligible for the list, student-athletes must have carried a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. More than 50 percent of the WIAC's student-athletes achieved Honor Roll status.
The following UW-Whitewater student-athletes from Plainfield are members of the 2020-21 WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll:
Shane McGrail (Plainfield North High School), a junior on the football team majoring in general business.
Jake Farley (Plainfield North High School), a senior on the men's soccer team majoring in general management.
Jackson Ranck (Plainfield North High School), a senior on the men's soccer team majoring in finance.
Taiya Stelmachowski (Central High School), a sophomore on the gymnastics team majoring in elementary education.
Meghan Dunning (Plainfield South High School), a freshman on the softball team majoring in communication sciences and disorders.
