Plainfield native makes dean’s list during first semester of college

Jabari Thurman, of Plainfield, made the dean’s list with a GPA of 3.52 his first semester at Illinois Wesleyan University. The first-year is a graduate of the Chicago Academy for the Arts. He is currently studying theater arts and costume design.

MSOE dean's list for fall 2023 semester

Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the Fall Semester 2023 Dean's List.

• Brianna Davis, of Plainfield, was named to the Dean's List with High Honors. Davis is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
• Robert Schmidt, of Plainfield, was named to the Dean's List . Schmidt is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering.
• Jason Gerding, of Plainfield, was named to the Dean's List . Gerding is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
• Grant Glorioso, of Plainfield, was named to the Dean's List with High Honors. Glorioso is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.

Student from Plainfield awarded gold stars for fall 2023 at The Citadel

William Morris of Plainfield is one of the more than 650 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the fall 2023 semester.

Gold stars are awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's dean's list.

Those cadets may wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement. A gold star recognition certificate is awarded to non-cadet students who meet the requirements; veteran and active duty students are also awarded challenge coins.

Local students named on dean’s honor roll at University of Mississippi

The University of Mississippi announced students named to the Fall 2023 Honor Roll lists, including Dean's Honor Roll.

• Anna Cousins, of Plainfield, IL, majoring in Integrated Marketing Comm., is one of the students on the Dean's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74.
• Cailyn Miller, of Plainfield, IL, majoring in Integrated Marketing Comm., is one of the students on the Dean's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74.

In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

The University of Mississippi announced students named to the Fall 2023 Honor Roll lists, including the Chancellor's Honor Roll.

• Michael Carlson, of Plainfield, IL, majoring in Biological Science, is one of those students on the Chancellor's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.
