Plainfield native makes dean’s list, gets accepted into honor society

Rebecca Pacetti, a 2019 graduate of Plainfield North High School, attends Coe College and will graduate in spring 2023. She was one of 119 students named to the fall 2022 dean’s list.

Rebecca was accepted into Mortar Board, the National College Senior Honor Society. Here is an excerpt from the invitation to apply: Mortar Board is a senior honor society that recognizes students who excel in leadership, scholarship, and service. Because of Mortar Board's commitment to these pillars, there are high expectations for Coe's Crescent Chapter members. Meetings are required, volunteer hours are recorded, and certain events will be scheduled throughout your membership in this organization.

To be eligible, students must be current juniors planning to graduate in 2023. Mortar Board members are typically in the top 35 percent of the junior class, however, we encourage all those who are interested to apply.

Plainfield's Daniel Garcia was student speaker at University of Iowa commencement ceremony

Daniel Garcia, of Plainfield, was one of only 11 students selected to speak to their fellow graduates at commencement ceremonies staged at the University of Iowa starting Dec. 15.

"It's my privilege. Thank you," Garcia said with a smile while channeling his very best imitation of actor Joe Pesci.

"In all seriousness, and less succinctly, it is my distinct privilege to be selected as a commencement speaker. It is both humbling and inspiring to speak to my fellow graduates, and I am proud of the journey we have been on together," he added.

"We have worked hard, and I hope everyone can appreciate where we are today and what we just accomplished. I wish us all the best and continued success. Thank you."

Milwaukee School of Engineering dean’s list includes Plainfield students

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) congratulates students named to the Fall Quarter 2022 Honors List.

• Jason Gerding of Plainfield (60586). Gerding is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at MSOE.
• Grant Glorioso of Plainfield (60585). Glorioso is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at MSOE.
• Tiffany Trizna of Plainfield (60586). Trizna is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at MSOE.

Undergraduate students who have earned a GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) for this quarter are on the Honors List.

Noah Mazza of Plainfield has been named to the Emory & Henry College fall 2022 Dean's list. To be named to the Dean's list, students must be full-time students and receive a 3.6 GPA for the semester.

Plainfield student makes Trine University dean’s list

Matthew Beck of Plainfield, a Trine University student, earned Dean's List recognition for the Fall 2022 term.

Beck is majoring in Criminal Justice-BS.

To earn Dean's List honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.500-3.749.

Kevin Yang, a Sophomore Middle School Education major from Plainfield, was among approximately 720 Bob Jones University students named to the Fall 2022 President's List.

The President's List recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

Ethan Wood, a junior engineering major from Plainfield, was among approximately 850 Bob Jones University students named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List.

Isabella Devenuto named to Wartburg College fall dean's list

Isabella Devenuto of Plainfield was named to the Wartburg College Fall Term Dean's List.

The college recognized 474 students for Fall Term.

The list honors students who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above in at least four course credits during the term. Three of the four course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.

Blake Barnickel earns president's list honors at Shenandoah

Blake Barnickel, of Plainfield, IL, is one of 477 students who made the President's List at Shenandoah University for the Fall 2022 semester.

To qualify for this prestigious academic recognition, students enrolled in baccalaureate degree programs must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.90 or higher.
