Two District 202 graduates, siblings go on double and triple major at Illinois colleges
I am the proud mother of two former PSD202 students, and decided to share their stories after reading the article in the Plainfield Patch about students from the district.

My daughter, Maura Freeman, graduated from Plainfield Central in 2015. She received a scholarship from the University of Illinois - Springfield (UIS) where she received a double major (Communications and English) and a minor (Political Science) with a 4.0 gpa (Summa Cum Laude) in 2019. She received a graduate assistant/teacher assistant scholarship at Illinois State University (ISU). She graduated last May 2021 with her Master's in Communication (also with a 4.0). She was hired at Rivian, in Normal, Illinois, as Plant Communications Coordinator.
My son, Ian Freeman, graduated from Plainfield Central in 2019. He received a presidential scholarship from Illinois State University (ISU). He is currently studying/working on a triple major in physics, mathematics, and computational physics. He spent last summer assisting with research at Indiana University - Bloomington, IN. He has been on the Dean's list every semester so far and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2023.

Plainfield North graduate earns architectural engineering degree, publishes book
I graduated from Plainfield North in 2008. I went on to Milwaukee School of Engineering and graduated with honors with a degree in Architectural Engineering – Mechanical Specialty. I then earned my Masters from the University of Kansas where I published a book with a grant from ASHRAE. I am currently a Senior Mechanical Engineer for exp. Additionally I am a licensed Professional Engineer.

Plainfield student graduates from Monmouth College
Cameron Graham of Plainfield has graduated from Monmouth College. A psychology major, Graham is the child of David J. and Sherrie L. Graham of Plainfield.

First-year student named to president’s list
Kevin Yang, a freshman middle school education major from Plainfield, was among approximately 660 Bob Jones University students named to the Fall 2021 President's List.
The President's List recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

Student from Plainfield earns dean's list honors at Edinboro University
Mia Brigit Listello of Plainfield, IL, 60586 was named to the Dean's List at Edinboro University for the fall 2021 semester.
In order to attain this highly regarded academic honor, students must maintain a quality point average of 3.4 or higher, complete a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit and receive no grade lower than a C in any course.
Listello was among nearly 1,000 students named to the fall 2021 Dean's List.

Local student makes it onto Abilene Christian University dean’s honor roll
Ella Root of Plainfield was named to the Abilene Christian University Fall 2021 Dean's Honor Roll. Root is a freshman majoring in Theatre.
Root was among more than 1,300 students named to the Fall 2021 Dean's Honor Roll.
To qualify for the Dean's Honor Roll, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

Plainfield students named to Wartburg College dean’s list
Wartburg College has recognized 509 students who were named to the 2021 Fall Term Dean's List.
Those recognized include:- Isabella Devenuto, of Plainfield
- Alizah Qadri, of Plainfield
The list honors students who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above in at least four course credits during the term. Three of the four course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.

Alma College dean’s list includes Plainfield student
Emma Figlewicz, of Plainfield, IL, was named to the Alma College Dean's List for those students who achieved outstanding academic performance during the 2021 Fall Term. Students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average during a term, while carrying a minimum of 13 credits, at least eight of which are evaluative grades, are named to the Dean's List.

Ellie Grundon earns scholarship from UW-Whitewater
Ellie Grundon from Plainfield, IL, a student who is studying Business at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, is among the scholarship recipients for the 2021-22 academic year.
Grundon won the following scholarship(s): UW-Whitewater Fall 2021 Foundation Scholarship
"On behalf of the UW-Whitewater Foundation, we send our deepest congratulations to this year's scholarship winners, who represent the very best in academic, co-curricular and service excellence across all of our colleges and departments," said Sandy Dunst, interim president of the UW-Whitewater Foundation. Keegan Haier named to Northwest's Fall 2021 President's List
Keegan Haier of Plainfield is among the list of distinguished Northwest Mississippi Community College students to be recognized for earning a place on the President's List for their outstanding academic performance during the Fall 2021 semester.
The President's List includes students completing a minimum of 12 academic hours with a 3.75 or better average in a four-point system.
