Local musician graduates college with digital audio recording degree

Will Snydersmith, a Plainfield Central High School alum, graduated in May from the University of St. Francis with a degree in digital audio recording. In college, he took part in the National Honors Society. He also placed third in commercial pop instrumental at the Illinois Music Education Association All-State Festival in January for a song he wrote.

Plainfield student named to university’s dean’s list

Joelle Watson of Plainfield (60585), a graduate of Plainfield North High School majoring in theatre stage management, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2022 semester at Baldwin Wallace University, according to Provost Stephen D. Stahl. The Dean's List recognizes students who earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more graded hours during the semester.

Plainfield native inducted into leadership honor society

Julia Jessen, a native of Plainfield, was recently initiated into the Sweet Briar College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. The Society welcomed 320 new initiates from 15 universities in May 2022.

Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on campus are invited to join each year.

Student from Plainfield earns dean’s list nods

Kathryn Strand of Plainfield (60586) has been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the Spring 2022 semester.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of Iowa 2022 spring president's list honorees announced

More than 1,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the president's list for the 2022 spring semester.

President's list status was earned by only 73 first-year undergraduates during the 2022 spring semester at Iowa; only 199 second-year students; only 285 third-year students; and only 464 fourth-year students.

The president's list was established in the fall of 1983 to recognize academic excellence.

In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 grade-point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the fall 2021 semester, and a minimum of nine graded hours with a 4.0 grade-point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the spring 2021 semester. Courses offered on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory (S/U), pass/fail (P/F), or pass/non-pass (P/N) basis do not count toward graded credit for inclusion on the president's list.

Plainfield student named to Missouri State University's spring 2022 dean's list

Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean's list.

For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the spring semester and at least a 3.50 GPA (on a 4.00 scale).

Ethan Urbanowicz of Plainfield (60544) made the list. Urbanowicz was among more than 4,700 students named to the spring 2022 dean's list.

Plainfield students named to Wartburg College named to dean's list

Wartburg College has recognized 454 students who were named the 2022 Winter/May Term Dean's List.

Those honored include:

The list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five-course credits during the terms. Four of the five-course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.

Nolan Khounborin from Plainfield graduated with a BSCS Computer Science from Ohio University's Russ College of Engineering and Technology in spring 2022.

More than 4,400 students graduated with bachelor's, master's or doctorate degrees from Ohio University for spring semester 2022.

A total of 11,224 students enrolled during Spring Semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).
