Plainfield native enrolls at University of Kentucky

Grantas Vievesis of Plainfield, IL 60585, recently enrolled in the University of Kentucky College of Arts & Sciences for fall 2023 with a prospective major of Undeclared/Exploratory Studies in AS. Grantas is about to discover what's wildly possible in a College at the heart of the Big Blue Nation.

Student from Plainfield conducts undergraduate research at UW-Whitewater

Emily Sullivan, from Plainfield, IL, conducted and presented undergraduate research at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater during the last academic year.

The Undergraduate Research Program (URP) offers a variety of programs aimed to connect students with faculty mentors and provide them with enriching research opportunities. This can be in the form of working alongside a mentor as a student researcher, or creating independent, student-led projects with a mentor's help.

Sullivan, who is studying Psychology, presented "The STEM gap in popular media: Women in STEM underrepresented in the Marvel Cinematic Universe" while mentored and supervised by Andrea Romero while participating in the following program(s): Spring Undergraduate Research Day.

Plainfield student participates in cooperative education program

University of Alabama student Robert English of Plainfield, IL, is participating in UA's Cooperative Education Program during the fall 2023 semester. English is working for Mercedes Benz, U.S. International.

In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student.

While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

Plainfield student makes Seton Hall University dean’s list

Seton Hall University is pleased to announce Josalyn Treadwell of Plainfield has qualified for the Spring 2023 Dean's List.

After the close of every semester, undergraduate students completing all courses with a GPA of 3.4, with no grades lower than "C", qualify for the Dean's List.

Missouri State University's summer 2023 dean's list includes Plainfield student

Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean's list.

Ethan Urbanowicz from Plainfield made the list. Urbanowicz was among more than 1,100 students named to the summer 2023 dean's list.

For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least six credit hours during the summer semester and at least a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
