Plainfield North graduate earns dean’s list recognition at St. Louis University

Sarah Lau, a 2019 graduate from Plainfield North High School, is currently on the Dean’s List at St. Louis University. Sarah will be a senior in the Fall of 2022. Sarah is the daughter of David and Kristine Lau.

Plainfield native makes dean’s list with distinction at Duke University

Rebecca Lau, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering and German, named to the dean’s list with distinction at Duke University for the fall 2021 semester. Lau, a 2018 graduate of Plainfield North High School, was among 1,921 students who achieved the honor.

To make the Arts & Sciences dean’s list, students must rank in the top third of their college; for dean’s list with distinction, the top 10th of their college. At the Pratt School of Engineering, students must rank in the top third within their academic class to make the dean’s list; for dean’s list with distinction, the top 10th within their academic class.

Lau, the daughter of David and Kristine Lau, will be graduating in May 2022 and will pursue her PhD in the fall.

More than 6,700 Huskers named to fall deans' list

More than 6,700 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans' List for the fall semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

Plainfield students help raise $1.3 million to benefit a children’s hospital

More than 900 current University of Iowa students participated in the 28th annual student-led Dance Marathon , generating more than $1.3 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
The final tally raised by the students was $1,361,184.28, a total which pushed the amount of support generated by Dance Marathon over the course of its history to more than $33 million.

"Dance Marathon will continue to create so many miracles for our families. I am so glad that we all got to be a part of it together. Thank you so much," said Anna Dodge, the executive director of "DM28," which transitioned to a virtual event just 30 days before DM's "Big Event" weekend, Feb. 4-5.

Carter Salbego named to University of Utah's fall 2021 dean's list

Carter Salbego, of Plainfield, IL, was named to the University of Utah's Fall 2021 Dean's List. Salbego's major is listed as Materials Science & Engg BMA.

Salbego was among more than 9,600 students named to the Fall 2021 Dean's List at the U. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

Owen Kiilsgaard named to the fall 2021 president's list

Owen Kiilsgaard of Plainfield was named to the fall 2021 President's List at University of Central Arkansas.

Kiilsgaard was among more than 1,200 students named a Presidential Scholar.

To qualify for Presidential Scholar honors in a given semester, a student must earn a 4.0 GPA on a minimum of 12 hours of undergraduate degree credit with no incomplete grades.

Millikin University announces fall 2021 dean's list

Millikin University is pleased to announce the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2021 semester.

Students who attempt 12 graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher earn Dean's List honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00-grade point average on 12 graded credits attempted to earn High Dean's List honors.

Alabama Student-Athletes Earn SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll Accolade

The University of Alabama placed 81 student-athletes on the 2021 Fall Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Tuesday. Katie Shook, of Plainfield, is among the honorees.

Any student-athlete who participates in an SEC championship sport or a student-athlete who participates in a sport listed on his/her institution's NCAA Sports Sponsorship Form is eligible for nomination to the Academic Honor Roll.

Plainfield resident earns spot on SVSU's Deans' List

Almost 2,000 students from Saginaw Valley State University earned a spot on the Fall 2021 semester Deans' List.

Sarah Gersch, of Plainfield, was among those honored for academic excellence.

To be eligible for the Deans' List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.

Gabriella Rivera inducted into honor society of Phi Kappa Phi

Gabriella Rivera of Plainfield, Illinois, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Rivera was initiated at Elmhurst University.

Rivera is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Plainfield student named distinguished scholar at Rockford University

Makayla Ashford, a resident of Plainfield, is announced as a fall 2021 distinguished scholar at Rockford University.

Full-time (12 or more credits) students attending Rockford University who earned at least a 3.75 GPA with no grades below "C" and completed all requirements for the semester are named as Distinguished Scholars.
