District 202 Goes Remote For Incoming Winter Snowstorm
All after-school activities, athletics and the YMCA Kid Zone were canceled for Friday, officials said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 students will learn remotely Friday due to the incoming winter snowstorm, officials announced Thursday afternoon.
District staff cited “weather-related issues” as the reason for remote learning.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch ahead of a Friday snowstorm with potential blizzard conditions. Heavy and blowing snow is possible, and accumulations could be greater than 6 inches, with wind gusts as high as 50 mph, according to the weather service.

On Friday, students should log into their Google Classrooms to ensure they have the tools needed for the day.
In-person schooling will resume Tuesday, unless otherwise noted, officials said. There is no school Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
After the winter storm at the end of the week, temperatures will be much colder, Patch reported. The high for Saturday is 23 degrees, with single-digit wind chills expected. On Saturday night, wind chills could be 20 below zero.
