Drug Abuse Seminar To Be Hosted By D202 Parent Group
Among other things, guests will walk through a mock-up of a teen's bedroom to see how drugs are hidden in plain sight, organizers said.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield School District 202 parent group is hosting a free event about drug abuse Thursday.
Organized by the Plainfield Parent Community Network, the "Drug Use, Drug Misuse, and Drug Dependence: What's the Difference?" presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Plainfield South High School, 7800 W. Caton Farm Road.
During the event, three speakers will share their personal stories, education and prevention information about confronting the realities of drug use, abuse and dependence.

Participants 18 and older can also tour the Heroin Epidemic Relief Organization's "Hidden In Plain Sight" trailer, an interactive tool that allows people to walk through a mock-up of a teenager's bedroom to see how they can hide drugs and alcohol in plain sight.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and guests should enter on the northwest side of the campus, near the corner of Ridge and Caton Farm roads.
