Easter Brunches, Specials and What’s Open and in Plainfield

A look at what Plainfield businesses are cooking up this Sunday.

The Easter egg hunts are over, for the most part, and it’s time to celebrate the big ay: Easter Sunday.

For those of you who aren’t planning on cooking a big meal for the family, here’s what some local restaurants are offering up:

  • Durbin’s of Plainfield, 16031 S. Lincoln Highway: The restaurant will host an Easter brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; plus, kids ages 5 and under can meet the Easter bunny free from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The special holiday menu features spring leg of lamb, roast sirloin of beef, ham off the bone and an omelet and carving station. Cost for brunch is $19.95 per person for adults and $10.95 for children over age 5. Call 815-230-4444 to make a reservation.
  • Fox's Restaurant & Pub, 14206 S. Route 30: The restaurant will be open regular hours (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.) and offering a special Easter menu.
  • La Dolce Vita per Tutti– The restaurant will be open from 1 to 6 p.m., and will offer a ham special featuring green beans and garlic mashed potatoes
  • Moe Joe’s, 24033 W. Lockport St.: Moe Joe’s will host its 8th annual Bunny Bash on Saturday, March 30, featuring a live DJ, drink specials and their egg toss of prizes after 10 p.m.
  • Nevin’s Brewing Company, 12337 S. Route 59: Nevin’s will host an Easter brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring the following stations: omelet, seafood, waffles, salad and cheese and a sweets table. Cost is $35.99 per adult and $9.99 for kids age 10 and under. To make a reservation call 815-436-3900.

What’s open, closed

The Plainfield Public Library will be closed Sunday in observance of Easter. It will reopen at 9 a.m. Monday, April 1.

The following places will be open:

  • Starbucks, 12640 S. Route 59: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Jewel-Osco, 13460 S. Route 59 (Route 59 and 135th Street): 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Jewel-Osco, 2480 Route 59 (Route 59 and Caton Farm Road): 5 a.m. to midnight
  • Tiny’s Finer Foods, 2300 Route 59: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
