Edward Medical Group is hosting a monthly Type 2 Diabetes Support Group at the Edward Plainfield Outpatient Center, 24600 127th St.
The group will meet on the first Thursday of every month (beginning November 3), 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the lower level conference room of Building A (where the Emergency Department is located).
Sessions will feature guest speakers and topics that will focus on diabetes management, including healthy eating habits, how to establish long-term health goals, how to manage lifestyle changes due to diabetes and more.

The Center provides education and medical nutritional therapy for children, teens and adults living with Type 1 or 2 diabetes, prediabetes or gestational diabetes. The goal is to improve diabetes control, prevent long-term complications and prevent hospitalization.
Edward has been an American Diabetes Association-recognized Diabetes Center since 2001. In 2012, Edward earned Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification for Advanced Inpatient Diabetes care.
The Center’s staff is composed of certified diabetes educators, who are registered dietitians and registered nurses, specially trained and certified in the field of diabetes education. They work with each patient’s primary care physician, nurse practitioner and/or endocrinologist to develop a personalized plan of care for each individual’s needs and lifestyle.
