Edward to Open New Plainfield Health Care Center This Month

Services will move from Frederick Street facility to new location by Aug. 20.

Edward Hospital will open its newest health care center Aug. 20 in Plainfield, replacing an existing Frederick Street location with a new facility at 16519 S. Route 59, according to The Herald-News.

The Naperville-based hospital began construciton on the  in January. The newest member of the Edward family is located near Route 59 and Dayfield Drive.

The new facility will offer primary and walk-in care from Edward Medical Group physicians, along with specialists, physical and occupational therapy and imaging services.

Though efforts to bring a hospital to Plainfield have been put on hold due to the recession, Edward Vice President Brian Davis told The Herald-News it could happen in the future, saying, "Right now we're in a wait-and-see mode." Click here to read the full article.

Edward already has a presence in Plainfield with its 60-acre campus at 127th Street and Van Dyke Road. That facility includes a 24/7 emergency room, cancer center, outpatient center, medical office building and the Plainfield Surgery Center.
