Edward Unveils New Healthcare Center
Plainfield medical office is located at Route 59 and Dayfield Drive.
The first patients arrived Monday morning as Edward Healthcare Center opened at its new location.
The at 16519 S. Route 59 replaces a location at 15905 Frederick St.
Edward Medical Center Manager Ann Skoglund said the new facility is more than double the size of the old location, and boasts expanded services including physical therapy, laboratory and imaging, including digital mammography, X-rays and, eventually, ultrasounds.

Patients can receive primary care at the location seven days per week.
Keith Hartenberger, Edward public relations specialist, said the facility will provide a more convenient location for a growing number of patients.

“Our growth is in the south and southwest suburbs, so this is convenient for people who live in this area,” he said, adding 40 percent of the babies born at Edward Hospital are from .
The facility has 14 patient exam rooms and, currently, two primary care physicians on staff.
A third Edward Medical Group physician will join the staff in early September, Skoglund said, followed by two nurse practicioners in October.
The center will also add ultrasounds to its lists of available services, and will expand walk-in hours to seven days per week starting in October, she noted.
Currently, walk-in care is available from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
