The Huysers Fighting Back Benefit

Friends will host a spaghetti dinner benefit in support of Lynne and Kevin Huyser of Plainfield from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at , located at Route 59 and Rolf Road.

Kevin, 51, is battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma and is preparing to undergo his second stem cell transplant. Following the procedure, Kevin will have to be in isolation for at least 100 days and will be unable to work for a year — or possibly longer.

Wife Lynne has had to take time off work to care for Kevin, and the couple are also facing mounting medical bills.

Dubbed the "Fighting Back Benefit," the Aug. 24 dinner will include salad, bread, beverages, dessert, raffles, silent auctions and a bake sale. 

Cost to attend the dinner is a $10 donation for adults. Children under age 5 will eat for free.
