Fenwick High School Seeking to Overturn Plainfield North Win
Plainfield North was mistakenly given an untimed down, which allowed the team to go on and win the game.

Fenwick High School attorneys are seeking an emergency order to overturn Plainfield North’s Saturday night football win.
Plainfield North had received an untimed down in the fourth quarter of the game, allowing them to tie it with a field goal and go on to win the game in overtime.
Illinois High School Association Executive Director Craig Anderson said the untimed down was given due to an officiating error.

The suit was filed Nov. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against the IHSA, according to the Cook County Record. It asks the court to issue a restraining order and a “permanent injunction, to essentially declare Fenwick the winner of that IHSA Class 7A state semifinals playoff game.”
Plainfield North released a statement saying that it understands Fenwick’s position, but that Plainfield North is still preparing for Saturday’s championship game, according to ABC 7.
