• Plainfield Emergency Sirens Damaged: Use Cell Phone Alerts (audacy.com) — Plainfield residents are being urged to rely on cell phone weather alerts after two village storm sirens, including ones near Route 126 and I-55, were badly damaged in recent storms. Officials stress sirens are mainly for people outdoors and note a $500,000 grant will help replace and expand the warning system.
