Five Men Recognized For Saving Unconscious People In Water
Five bystanders and local officers jumped into the water at the Plainfield Fishing Club to save two people who were unconscious.

PLAINFIELD, IL — First responders and five bystanders helped rescue two unconscious people in the water June 4. They were recognized at the Plainfield Fire Protection District’s Board of Trustees meeting July 13.
After the first responders were on their way to the Plainfield Fishing Club after a call of a possible drowning, five bystanders — Joshua Santos, David Ibarra, Damoni Myers, Omar Ortiz and Sebastian Barraza — entered the water to save the people. Before the fire department arrived, the five men already rescued a 4-year-old.
The men, along with the sheriff's deputies and a police officer, Ricardo Robles, then rescued a 31-year-old from the water.
