4 Plainfield Runners Registered for Boston Marathon

Three deaths and several injuries have been reported after explosions rocked the area near the race's finish line Monday. It's not clear whether any Plainfield runners were among those injured.

Two explosions Monday near the finish line of the Boston Marathon have left three dead and several wounded, news sources are reporitng.

Bloodied competitors and volunteers were seen leaving the scene and a medical tent near the finish was being used to treat the injured, the New York Times reported.

Nearly 40,000 people compete in the Boston Marathon annually with runners coming from all over the world.

Runners from Plainfield were also registered for this year’s race, according to the race’s website. Local runners include: Tracy Decourcy, Ian McNulty, John Prieboy and Edward Votava. 

According to the race website, Decourcy finished the race in a time of 3:52:50. McNulty finished in 3:16:54, Prieboy 2:57:02 and Votava 3:06:58
