Gas Price Update: Plainfield Prices Continue To Skyrocket

A month ago, the average price per gallon was about 58 cents less than it is this week. Here is where you can find the cheapest gas in town.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Throughout March and into April, gas prices continued to decrease in Illinois. But now in May, that's no longer the case. In Plainfield, prices continue to increase from previous weeks.

As of Wednesday, the average price for gas in Illinois is about $4.92 per gallon, according to AAA. That's up 15 cents from the week before and 58 cents from a month ago.

At around $5.01 per gallon in Will County, gas prices were slightly above the state average.

Nationally Friday, the average was about $4.57 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Plainfield is selling for $4.79 per gallon at BP, 16141 W. Lincoln Highway. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
