Gas Price Update: Plainfield Prices See Slight Decrease

PLAINFIELD, IL — The more time passes, the more painful it gets for Plainfield residents to see the price of a tank of gas. But after a period of sharp increase, prices are decreasing slightly.

While prices in Illinois remain high, the average price for gas is $5.40 per gallon as of Wednesday, according to AAA. That's 9 cents cheaper than a week ago.

At around $5.65 per gallon in Will County, gas prices were significantly above the state average.

Nationally Wednesday, the average was still under $5 at about $4.87 per gallon.

With prices as high as they are, you can still save a little bit if you know where to look in Plainfield.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Plainfield is selling for $5.49 per gallon at Mobil, 14808 S. Route 59. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
