Groundbreaking Set for New Plainfield Preschool
KLA Schools will cater to ages six weeks through 12 years old.

Construction is set to begin this month on a new Plainfield preschool.
A groundbreaking for KLA Schools, 12456 S. Van Dyke Rd., is scheduled for Thursday, April 18. The school will offer programs for children ages six weeks through 12 years and is set to be completed by mid-July, according to Selvei Rajkumar, owner of the Plainfield school.
Rajkumar, who called the school an “innovative and unique upscale preschool,” said KLA will become the first Plainfield preschool to use an educational philosophy inspired by Italian educator and philosopher Loris Malaguzzi following World War II.

Known as the Reggio Emilia approach, the philosophy is based on Malaguzzi’s belief that “the wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences,” according to the KLA Schools website.
According to a press release issued by the Plainfield location, the KLA School will be conducive to exploration learning, and each classroom and common rooms will have a specific purpose within the learning environment.

The school will have a “Nature Based Playground” that will allow kids to appreciate the natural environment “and to become stewards of nature’s gifts throughout their lives,” the press release said.
Children will also be able to experience growing and harvesting in a specially designed garden.
Rajkumar said the school will open in August. Parents can begin registering students in June. For more information visit the KLA Schools Plainfield website.
