Harvest 5K Celebrates 25 Years With Event In Downtown Plainfield
The event evolved from a group of 250 runners and walkers competing to one averaging about 1,000 participants a year, organizers said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Harvest 5K and 10K run will celebrate its 25th anniversary in downtown Plainfield Sept. 24.
The race will be held around Village Green Park.
Hosted by the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, the Harvest run, walk and kids' miler evolved from a group of 250 runners and walkers competing to one averaging about 1,000 participants a year, organizers said on the event page.

"It is one of the largest races, if not the largest, in Will County and has brought thousands of participants and spectators to Plainfield," organizers said.
The Kidz Miler will step off at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K and 10K run/walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. Races will begin at Ottawa and Fox River streets.

The price to enter the 5K is $35 before 7 p.m. Sept. 21 and increases to $40 after that time. Late registration will be open until 15 minutes before the start of the race.
