Homicide Investigation Opened After Aurora Man Found Dead In Home: PD

As the investigation remains ongoing, Aurora police said they believe the incident, which happened Friday evening, is isolated.

AURORA, IL — A man was found dead inside his Aurora residence Friday night, prompting police to open a homicide investigation into the incident, officials said.

Officers responded to the 700 block of Grove Street after a 911 call came in at about 8:40 p.m. Friday. There, on the city's east side, police found 68-year-old Isidro Nevarez suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics, officials said.

The preliminary cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, Kane County Coroner Rob Russell told Patch.

As the investigation remains ongoing, police said they have no suspects but believe the incident to be isolated.
