'Irish Princess' Chosen for Plainfield Irish Parade
The parade will march through downtown Plainfield this Sunday.

Organizers have announced the "Parade Princess" for this year's Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade, set for Sunday, March 12.
Plainfield North High School student Sarah Cousins will serve as this year's parade princess. The honor-roll student has trained with Keigher Academy of Irish Dance for the past 10 years and has performed in many local Irish dance shows and St. Baldrick's fundraiser events, according to parade organizers.
"Sarah had the amazing opportunity to expand her knowledge of her culture during the summer of 2015 when she visited Ireland," organizers said. "In Ireland, Sarah was able to show off her dance skills at a pub in Dublin, where she gave a shout out to her hometown, Plainfield."
