Judge Denies Plainfield Teacher's Request for No-Contact Order Against Teen
Plainfield Central physics teacher sought the order after Twitter threat.

A Will County judge on Friday denied a Plainfield teacher’s request for a no-contact order against a student who allegedly threatened her via Twitter.
Nickey Walker, a longtime Plainfield Central staffer, has spoken out against the school board’s decision to allow the teen to return to school after a 10-day suspension for the Jan. 29 threat. Walker cited other posts on the teen’s Twitter account that she said also referenced her and her class.
The post, which was intercepted by a federal agency, said, “If I don’t get a 23/30 with this Reading Log, I’m gonna stab Mrs. Walker.”

The teen was suspended for 10 days following the incident. On Feb. 9, the school board voted 4-3 to allow the student to return, despite an administrative recommendation for alternative placement for the teen.
A spokesman for the district said while the teen has returned to school, he is no longer in Walker’s class.
