Lockport Road Construction Will Force 4-Day Airport Road Closure

Plainfield officials are asking drivers traveling west into Plainfield to use Renwick Road instead of Airport Road, which will be closed.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Construction will once again start on East Lockport Street, and it will require Airport Road going into Plainfield from Romeoville to close Monday, officials announced Friday.

The road is expected to reopen by end-of-day Thursday — two days before Christmas. Village officials are asking drivers traveling west into Plainfield to use Renwick Road instead.

Plainfield's sewer lining contractor will be completing individual sanitary sewer service liners along Lockport Street, east of Route 59 on Monday. Officials said in a village update that 51 service liners are scheduled to be installed through Jan. 6. Local traffic, including busses, will be allowed in the area but may need to drive around the contractor's operations.
