Malfunctioning Traffic Light Causes Backup On Route 59

The intersection of Route 59 and Route 126 is backed up, and Plainfield police are encouraging drivers to use alternate routes.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A traffic light at the intersection of Route 59 and Route 126 is malfunctioning, causing backups in the area as of about 9:45 a.m. Friday.

In a message alerting the community on Facebook, Plainfield police said they don't have an estimated time for when the light will be repaired. Officers are encouraging drivers to use alternate routes in the meantime to avoid traffic.
