Men Take 5-Year-Old Along for Plainfield Liquor Store Burglary: Police
Men from Lockport, Joliet accused of stealing cash from the Route 30 store.

Two men face burglary charges after allegedly smashing the window of a Plainfield liquor store and stealing money — with a 5-year-old in tow, police said.
Anthony Esco, 24, of the 300 block of Barry, Lockport, and 23-year-old Andre Nash, of the 1400 block of Cornelius in Joliet, were arrested late Oct. 9 after police said they were alerted by a burglar alarm at Plainfield Liquor & Tobacco, 15932 S. Lincoln Highway.
Sgt. Mike Fisher said police who arrived on the scene noticed that the front window of the business had been smashed and two vehicles were in the parking lot.

One vehicle turned out to simply be parked there for the night, but the other quickly fled east on Route 30 after police arrived, Fisher said.
An officer followed the vehicle, waiting to initiate a traffic stop until backup had arrived, according to Fisher.

Fisher said a “significant amount of evidence,” including burglary tools and cash stolen in the burglary, was found in the car. The occupants, Esco and Nash, were taken into custody.
In addition to the two alleged burglars, police said there was a 5-year-old in the car.
A female officer took custody of the child, who was eventually returned to the mother’s custody, Fisher said.
