Mickey O'Neill's Opens Monday
A new Irish pub will open up in the old Finnegan's location on Lockport Street.

Downtown diners will have more options starting Monday, according to staffers at the new .
The bar and eatery is scheduled to open June 4, filling the space vacated last September by .
"We could not be more excited," said Caroline Koch, marketing director for Mickey O'Neill's, which joins the family of restaurants owned by restaurateur Charles "Chuck" Rizzo.

Rizzo's other establishments include Rizzo's in downtown Naperville and Charlie's Bar & Grill in Elmhurst.

"She's my mom's mother, and she asked her, 'Are you OK with (Chuck) naming the bar after you?'" Rizzo told Patch in April. The answer was a resounding yes, he said.
Koch said she wasn't sure if the restaurant's namesake will be at Monday's grand opening, but promised "great drink specials."
The bar offers appetizers — everything from chicken quesedillas to Irish potato skins — plus burgers, sandwiches and entrees, including the Irish classics shepherd's pie and corned beef and cabbage.
Mickey O'Neill's will also boast a wide selection of American craft beers and imports.
While staffers are excited for Monday's opening, Koch said they're also looking forward to taking part in their first .
"We are hoping to be packed for our first ever Cruise Night on Tuesday and can't wait to see the town of Plainfield in full action," she said.
