Missing Ring Recovered: Plainfield Mom's Lost Jewelry Found At Laundromat
"Miracles do happen," the happy mom wrote after the ring -- gone six weeks -- was returned.

PLAINFIELD, IL -- A Plainfield mom who feared her wedding ring was lost forever was celebrating this weekend after it turned up right where it was lost: a local laundromat.
The ring went missing last month after Megan Gerovac's well-intentioned sister took the family's laundry to Soap Opera Laundromat on Route 59. What she didn't know is that Gerovac's husband had put the ring in the pocket of a pair of jeans when the Plainfield mom was headed into surgery for an emergency c-section.
When Gerovac returned home, she realized she'd never put the ring, which once belonged to her mother-in-law, back on after the baby's birth. She put the word out on social media, hoping another customer inadvertently took it home with their clothes, but the ring remained missing for more than a month.

"Rita, an employee at the laundry mat found it lodged very tightly up in the corner of one of the dryers when she was cleaning them out," Gerovac wrote. "She kept it safe for me until Joey, another employee there was able to find me and let me know! I cried, she cried, we all hugged. It was awesome!"
She thanked everyone who shared her story to help her get the special jewelry back.
"I am so grateful for good people in this world!" Gerovac wrote. "Not a scratch on it...just perfect like it was before."
