Nighttime Lane Closures Set For I-55, I-80 In Will County
The work will affect traffic in Bolingbrook, Rockdale, Romeoville, Shorewood, Plainfield, Channahon and Joliet.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that pavement patching on Interstate 55 between Weber Road and the Des Plaines River and on Interstate 80 between the Grundy/Will county line to the Des Plaines River, in Bolingbrook, Rockdale, Romeoville, Shorewood, Plainfield, Channahon and Joliet, will require overnight, temporary lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Monday, Sept. 10.
The project consists of patching various locations of interstate that have deteriorated or are in disrepair.
Construction will be completed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. If needed, work may extend to 10 a.m.on Saturdays and Sundays. Work zones will be established and marked with drums and advance signage.

The project is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
