P.S.H.S. Bass Fishing Team records Victory# 7

The team of Austin Coffman and Ken Odell Jr Coached by Ken Odell Win the 3rd Annual “share your boat with a Veteran Tournament” partnered with Ken Odell Sr the Veteran. The High School Anglers fished against the High school anglers, Coaches against Coaches and Veterans against the other Veterans. This Victory is 8 days after the Victory on the Des Plaines River # 7 Victory in 5 years. 13 different anglers have collected those victories. When you’re hot you’re hot. The Cougars are on fire! Due to the ISHA Sectionals being rescheduled teams backed out to practice for their ISHA Sectionals shorten the field to 14 Boats. Those 14 boats got to “Share their Boats with Veterans for a Life Changing experience. Minooka took 2nd Place in the tournament and Plainfield South High School also took 3rd place.

There were many outstanding moments in this tournament and a couple of them were related to Sportsmanship. A Veteran found out that 3 anglers had only 1 fishing pole between the 3 of them. He donated his rod & reel to Aiden Kundid via a raffle. Aiden Kundid was the angler who did have a rod & reel. He in turn handed the donated rod to Ryan Clark because he already had one. Where are you going to find a more outstanding young man then that. Aiden Kundid your parents did an amazing job raising you, I’m proud to be coaching you and glad you are on our team. Lucas Sequeira one of the 3 anglers without any equipment wrote up an article on the Team App summarizing the day was one of the most special days in his life! Ryan Park donated the rod and reel that he won to his Veteran! It turned out to be a day most will never forget and cherish for life! Plainfield South High School Bass fishing team the 2017 Illinois B.A.S.S. Nation State Champions provided a day that changed people’s lives. Mission Accomplished!
