The volunteer-powered event will showcase Plainfield artists, businesses, and organizations while raising funds to expand free music experiences and mentorship for local youth.
   

2. 650 toilet paper rolls confiscated by Illinois police in homecoming pranks (newsnationnow.com) — Plainfield police say they've confiscated 650 rolls of toilet paper after late-night homecoming pranks escalated into property damage across town, including North Plainfield neighborhoods. Officers report masked groups targeting homes and cars with eggs, ketchup, and detergent, and they're warning residents that homecoming is no excuse for vandalism or disrupting neighbors' quality of life.

Illinois American Water customers speak out on $129 million rate hike at Bolingbrook hearing (shawlocal.com) — Plainfield residents who get water from Illinois American Water could see bills rise by about $10 a month for water and $23 for wastewater under a proposed $129 million rate hike. At a packed Bolingbrook hearing, customers and local leaders blasted the plan, arguing the profitable private utility should fund infrastructure upgrades without further burdening families already struggling with rising costs.
   

4. Soccer Recap: Oswego East Holds Plainfield North Scoreless (maxpreps.com) — Plainfield North's boys soccer team saw its home winning streak snapped in a 2-0 loss to higher-ranked Oswego East on Wednesday, dropping the Tigers to 5-3-1. North now turns around quickly for another home test Tuesday, when they'll host crosstown rival Plainfield Central in a 4:30 p.m. kickoff local fans can attend.
