With omicron and delta coronavirus cases on the rise — the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists Will County's transmission as "high" — district officials are encouraging families and school staff to get tested before returning to school to prevent outbreaks and reduce spread.

SHIELD testing will continue to be available for students. Joliet Junior College, at 1215 Houbolt Road, offers free saliva testing from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Friday. Testing is temporarily halted at the location while JJC students are on winter break but will resume Monday.
