Plainfield-Area ALDI Celebrates Remodel With Giveaway

The Plainfield location is part of a $1.9 billion investment to remodel and expand 1,300 stores nationwide by the end of 2020.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield-area ALDI will celebrate its reopening on Thursday, Aug. 30, as one of the latest Chicago-area stores to to be revamped as part of a $1.9 billion plan to expand and remodel more than 1,300 stores nationwide. As part of the reopening festivities, ALDI will offer a "Golden Ticket" giveaway, with gift cards for the first 100 customers.

Shoppers will also be able to sample exclusive ALDI-brand foods and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 8:25 a.m. Thursday at the store, 2450 Ridge Road, followed by the Golden Ticket giveaway, produce for a year sweepstakes and product sampling.

Locally, ALDI is investing $180 million to update more than 130 stores in Chicago and the Chicagoland area by the end of 2020.
