Plainfield Central to Hold Battle Reenactment Dec. 2

If you hear gunshots in the area, don't be alarmed.

PLAINFIELD, IL — If you hear gunshots in the area of Plainfield Central Friday, know that there’s nothing to worry about.

Plainfield Central will be hosting a special social studies program about World War II throughout the school day Friday. The program will feature an outdoor battle reenactment including a semiautomatic rifle demonstration, according to Plainfield School District 202. The demonstrators will be shooting blanks. The event will be safe, but the guns will be loud.

“Please do not be concerned about this noise during the school day on Dec. 2 and alert your neighbors, family, and friends who live in the downtown Plainfield/Plainfield Central High School area,” said District 202 Director of Communications Tom Hernandez.
