Plainfield 'Ink Master' Scott Marshall Died of Drug Overdose
The 41-year-old man was found dead in a Roselle hotel room. He was the 2014 winner of Spike TV's "Ink Master."

The results of an autopsy show that tattoo artist and Plainfield resident Scott Marshall died of a drug overdose.
DuPage County Chief Deputy Coroner Charlie Dastych said that the official cause of death was the result of intoxication from heroin and benzodiazepine.
Roselle Police Sgt. John Lawson had told Patch that Marshall found was dead in a Roselle Holiday Inn Express located at 1490 W. Lake Street. Police had received a call for an unresponsive guest at around 4:24 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

Marshall was 41 at the time of his death.
In addition to running Roselle Tattoo Co., Marshall won season 4 of Spike TV’s “Ink Master” and took home the grand prize of $100,000.

Marshall had told Patch in a 2014 interview that he planned to invest his winnings to further his career.
“[I’ll] just continue to work — it’ll give me a fresh start. I’m kind of just going with the flow,” Marshall had said.
