PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield North High School sophomore has been selected as the 2018 Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade Princess. Grace Schlueter, who has been Irish dancing for seven years, won the honor.
Schlueter's Irish roots come from her mother's side, according to the parade's website, specifically from Counties Kerry and Galway. "With St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all month long, she gets the opportunity to put her dancing talents on display for her friends, family and community at nursing homes, restaurants, and church events," the parade's website says.
The Princess is an active member of the community as a member of the Juniorettes (of the Plainfield Junior Women's Club) and as a member of the BSA Venturing Crew 19 of St. Mary.
