The Park District is governed by a 7-member Board of Commissioners who offer their input and guide the District in achieving its mission.
The Board of Commissioners met in person for the first time in July and its members said that it was good to get back to the live meetings again.

Commissioners Bill Thoman and Collette Safford chatted before the start of the meeting, noting that the personal interaction was something they missed during their zoom forums.
“It’s a change back to the normal, which is refreshing,” said Thoman.
“I definitely feel the energy,” said Commissioner Safford, who was attending her first in-person meeting after being elected in April. “We’re excited to be back together.”
Board President Mimi Poling said what was missing over the past 16 months was the “collective effervescence” of people coming together in person to collaborate and work.
