Plainfield Police Investigating Suspicious Vehicle

Some Plainfield residents have taken to Facebook to make others aware of a suspicious truck in the area. The truck is described as a 2000s blue Dodge Dakota single cab 4x4.
Plainfield Police Chief John Konopek is aware of the concerns and has been looking into the situation.

“We’re investigating the vehicle,” Konopek said. “There have been no reports of any thefts or criminal activity or burglaries where the vehicle was sighted at.”
Konopek said they had received no calls about the suspicious vehicle and located the information on the Internet.

“Nobody called us to report this vehicle as being suspicious,” Konopek said. “We’re conducting an investigation right now, but we have no criminal activity link to the vehicle but we are going to check into it just because of the concerns that people have mentioned out there.”
Konopek said they have identified the owner of the vehicle, but have not yet made contact with him.
The Facebook posts describe him as a white male who’s been seen around the neighborhood of Rolf Rd. and Route 59.
