Plainfield Sisters Star In HBO Documentary
Bianca and Breanna Brummell will appear in "Swiped: Hooking Up In The Digital Age" premiering later this month.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Just months after another brush with celebrity, Plainfield native Bianca Brummell will be back in the limelight as part of an HBO documentary. Premiering Sept. 10, the special takes a look at how the world of dating has changed for millennials amid the advent of dating apps like Tinder, said Brummell, a Columbia College Chicago graduate and writer who recently made an appearance during actress/author Amber Tamblyn's recent book tour.
Brummell, 28, said the documentary also features her sister, Breanna.
HBO bills the documentary, called "Swiped: Hooking Up In The Digital Age," as "a modern look at dating in the 21st century, dating apps, and the culture that surrounds it." Broadway World says the documentary "follows several 20-something women and men from around the country, who describe in unvarnished detail their experiences with dating apps. As they navigate a seemingly unlimited stream of potential partners, app users navigate the hookup culture, unwanted explicit messages, and the capriciousness of simply 'swiping right' (attractive) or 'swiping left' (unattractive)."
